Like all sports, gig racing relies upon people to ensure that competition rules are upheld. Race Officials are essential in making racing safe and fair for all competitors and helping clubs to run successful regattas.
New regional sessions will take place in May to support new and existing Race Officials. The sessions will explore the updated 2024 Racing Rules now supplemented by the 2024 Racing Handbook.
Why become a Race Official?

How do I become a Race Official?
It’s easy to get started and you don’t need to have been a rower or a cox to be an umpire. If you are over 18, just join a regional session run by the CPGA in a location near you.
