The Cornish Pilot Gig Association is launching a series of consultation sessions with member clubs to gather feedback on the 2025 season and explore ideas for the future of the sport. With 2026 marking the final year of the current five-year strategic plan, these sessions will play a key role in helping shape the next phase of the CPGA’s development.
Clubs are invited to send up to three representatives to one of the online sessions. Each attendee must have a mandate to represent their club, and bookings can be made individually via the JustGo system.
The consultation dates are:
– Wednesday 4 February, 7pm
– Monday 9 February, 7pm
– Thursday 12 February, 7pm
Participants will be invited to share their club’s experience of the 2025 season, including attendance at regatta and championship events, their own event provision, and other areas of interest. Discussions will also cover topics such as race official developments, StreamTeam initiatives, courses, forums, workshops, junior development, Event In A Box resources, and racing rules.
This year, clubs are encouraged to think broadly about the future of the CPGA and the strategic aims they would like to see reflected in the next five-year plan. The consultation offers a chance to contribute ideas across governance, club support, competition, participation, and sport promotion. In previous years, these sessions have proven highly productive, generating ideas and developments that have shaped the Association’s direction and supported growth across the sport.
All full and affiliate member clubs are encouraged to take part, share their experiences, outline their ideas, and ask questions.
The CPGA looks forward to hearing from clubs and using this valuable feedback to guide the next phase of strategic development, ensuring the sport continues to thrive for everyone involved.
