The Big Gig Show – A Celebration Of Gig Rowing

The Big Gig Show is set to bring the gig rowing community together for an unmissable event on Sunday 9th March, at Westpoint Exeter. Running from 9am to 5pm, this open event welcomes everyone—whether you are a seasoned rower, club member, or simply curious about the sport. Tickets are not required for entry, just turn up and get involved.

What to Expect

With a packed schedule of exhibitions, demonstrations and talks, there is plenty to see and do throughout the day. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest in gig rowing equipment, connect with industry specialists and gain valuable insights into the sport.

Talks & Q&A Sessions

A series of talks and Q&A sessions will be held in the Conference Room. Spaces are limited, so booking via JustGo is advised.

  • 10am – Sports Welfare NetworkIntroducing the Sports Welfare Network and how it can help clubs
  • 11am – CPGA Trustee Annual Reportjoin the Cornish Pilot Gig Association Trustees for a round up of 2024 activities and take the opportunity to hear plans for 2025
  • 1pm – WPGC Q&A – a chance to engage with the WPGC committee, ask your questions and share your ideas.
  • 14:30 – Sports Welfare NetworkIntroducing the Sports Welfare Network and how it can help clubs
  • 3pm – Event Planning Q&A – a chance to discuss some of the opportunities and challenges events present clubs. 
  • 4pm – Porths & Gigs Cathy Parkes will discuss her Porths and Gigs of the Isles of Scilly project, blending archaeology and gig rowing.
