The CPGA Trustees are pleased to announce that the CPGA Super Vets and Masters Championships for 2023 have been awarded to Swanage Sea Rowing Club (Super Vets) and Paignton Amateur Rowing Club (Masters).
This decision was reached with the help of a thorough tendering process by which each club was asked to submit their proposal to host the Super Vets Championships. The proposals were scored against a range of criteria to identify which club would be most suitable to host this season.
Following careful evaluation, Swanage were successful in securing the Super Vets Championships 2023.
The high standard of applications submitted, coupled with a strong demand for Masters category events from the community, led the Trustees to allocate a Masters Championship for 2023 also.
This was awarded to Paignton. Their proposal, strengthened by their recent hosting of the 65th South Coast Rowing Championships in 2022, was successful.
The CPGA approach to an open and fair allocation of Championship provision will be developed further throughout 2023. There will be an opportunity for clubs to submit their applications to host the 2024 Masters Championship over the coming months once the Expression of Interest form goes live.
The CPGA Trustees are delighted to welcome two additional CPGA Championships to this year’s calendar and look forward to working with the host clubs to deliver these new events.
