The MARS Refuel Drink Fund will be returning for three months only from April 06 2009 to help sports clubs and individuals following their sporting dreams. Last year the MARS Refuel Drink Fund attracted 5,309 applications and helped to refuel 4,254 people. So if your football team is desperate for new strip, or your basketball club need new hoops, the MARS Refuel Drink Fund could help.
The fund, which launched on April 6 2009 until June 30 2009, has £10,000 to donate each month to the most deserving applicants.

BACKING SPORT IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Sport England yesterday launched its new Small Grants Programme and an enhanced version of the popular Sportsmatch scheme.
We look forward to receiving bids from a wide range of partners, enabling us to focus investment on grassroots projects that will deliver against our key outcomes - 'grow, sustain and excel'.

SECURING A BETTER DEAL FOR SPORT
The role of Sport England in protecting playing fields has been expanded, as new figures demonstrate our success in safeguarding sports provision in local communities.
From Monday, our remit as a statutory planning consultee will cover mini-pitches, previously considered too small to qualify for protection.

All Club secretaries will be receiving a letter from Tom P (ARA) regarding possible avenues of funding that can be explored.

TESCO VOUCHERS
No doubt those of you who have been shopping at Tescos recently will know that they are doing their voucher scheme again - one voucher for every £10 spent (£5 in express stores).
Did you realise that as a gig club you can register and start saving for sports equipment - unfortunately you cannot use the vouchers towards paddles, seats or new gigs, but there are masses of stuff that might be useful for your warm up sessions or circuit training.
